Irving, Texas (June 7, 2016) – MOBILITY Credit Union awards two graduating high school students its 7th Annual Judy W Kelley Scholarship worth $1,000. The 2016 recipients are Elizabeth Cook of Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas and Danyal Ali of L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas.

MOBILITY CU created the scholarship to give back to deserving credit union members, their children, and their grandchildren who were pursuing continuing education at a four-year college, community college or state-licensed technical school. Her legacy continues by recognizing the importance of higher education and fulfilling one of her most sincere passions - working with students.

Mark O’Bryan, MOBILITY CU president and CEO, sees the value in continuing the tradition. “We have a responsibility to invest in our students because they are the key to our future. The Judy W Kelley Scholarship was started to ensure that students who have the grades and will, but might not have the financial means necessary, can still get the education they desire.” O'Bryan said.

The two recipients were grateful to be recognized for their academic excellence. Cook will attend Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL to obtain her degree in Political Science. Ali plans to study Business at University of Texas at Austin in hopes of becoming an Entrepreneur.

Ranchview High School Girls Basketball Coach, Wendy Bartlett accepts $500 check donation from Dennis Konarski, SVP of Marketing at Mobility Credit Union

The Lady Wolves have been invited for the first time to play in a 2015 Holiday Tournament at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This opportunity will make the upcoming season one they will never forget as they compete against some of the best teams from across the United States.

Coach Wendy Bartlett said, "In the nine years I have been in the district, no CFBISD Girls Basketball team has ever been able to play at this level and we have the chance to do it, but only if we have lots of help. We are a small school that can have a big impact!"

Since no money is provided by the school district to participate in this prestigious event, each member of the team is responsible for raising the money for her own trip. As a team, they need to raise $40,000 to make the trip to Orlando, Florida in order to participate in the Holiday Tournament. The team is trying to supplement the fundraising efforts so they do not fall short and miss out on this opportunity.

In an effort to help the team meet their goal, MOBILITY Credit Union donated $500 to Coach Bartlett and the team on April 20th. MOBILITY Credit Union will also host a car wash for the Ranchview Girls Basketball team on May 9th from 10AM-2PM at 8384 N Belt Line Rd, Irving TX. All proceeds raised will help the team meet their $40,000 goal to make it to Disney World.

Mark O’Bryan, MOBILITY Credit Union’s President and CEO, is glad to help. “MOBILITY Credit Union believes that you have to support our schools in order to truly be a part of the community.”

Please stop by and help support Ranchview High School Girls Basketball team reach their goal and make it to Disney World.
