Irving, TX (Aug. 7, 2014) – MOBILITY Credit Union enlisted the help of staff and members at its Irving and Hurst branches to donate nearly 300 items of nonperishable food and hygiene items worth $575 to Metrocrest Services’ summer drive, a nonprofit organization that provides programs to aid self-sufficiency and independence for residents in North Texas, specifically Carrolton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Coppell, and the City of Dallas in Denton County.

Summer is one of Metrocrest Services food pantry’s busiest times. The organization serves over 100 families each week. With children out of school and not receiving school meals, more families are dependent upon the food pantry. Donations are needed, as 80% of Metrocrest Services food pantry’s items are donated by individuals and corporate supporters.

Mark O’Bryan, MOBILITY CU’s president and CEO, is glad to have participated. "MOBILITY Credit Union believes that you have to give back to the people you serve in order to truly be a part of the community. Our members and local community are very important to us."

Along with meeting the financial needs of the DFW and Houston communities for 49 years, MOBILITY CU has actively given back to the communities it serves through working with nonprofits, such as Metrocrest Services. The credit union is also a member of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce, Coppell Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce.

Tracy Eubanks, CEO of Metrocrest Services, appreciates the donation. "Metrocrest Services food pantry serves many families and adults of all ages who really need our help. We wouldn’t be able to meet the need without the generous donations from companies, such as MOBILITY Credit Union."
