Maria Garcia receiving her scholarship

Irving, Texas (June 12, 2015) – MOBILITY Credit Union awards two graduating high school students its 6th Annual Judy W Kelley Scholarship worth $1,500. The 2015 recipients are Maria Garcia of Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas and Rochelle Smith of Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Texas.

MOBILITY CU created the scholarship to give back to deserving credit union members, their children, and their grandchildren who were pursuing continuing education at a four-year college, community college or state-licensed technical school. The scholarship program was developed in honor of Judy W Kelley, MOBILITY CU’s former CEO who retired in 2010 after 41 years of service. Kelley valued education and community service.

Mark O’Bryan, MOBILITY CU president and CEO, sees the value in continuing the tradition. “MOBILITY Credit Union is invested in the future of its members. The scholarship shows them that we’re here for them at any life stage – college, marriage, children – no matter where they are,” O'Bryan said.

The two recipients were excited about being selected. Garcia has been accepted with University Honors into the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Smith plans to study Political Science at Texas Christian University in hopes to become an expert in the field of Criminal Justice.
