One of the activities at the Bicycle Fest was making smoothies using the power of pedaling.

Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) staff attended the 4th annual Bicycle Fest on Saturday, May 11, at the Lively Pointe Youth Center and Skate Park. The event was co-sponsored by the City of Irving and the Bike Lane Task Force and offered numerous activities with the main focus of promoting safe bicycling in Irving. It also served as the kickoff of Bike to Work Week, which is May 13-17.

KIB helped educate attendees of all ages by asking questions about recycling and the environment from its prize wheel. Prizes included reusable shopping bags, bike safety coloring books, flower seed packets, mini-frisbees and pens.

"KIB is always happy to participate in Irving’s annual bicycle festival,” said Board Member Jan Schriefer. “Not only is bicycling a fun, healthy activity that the whole family can enjoy, but it also helps to lessen our impact on the environment, which is becoming more and more important. We have enjoyed attending the Bike Fest and plan to keep coming back to help support it.”
