Contech volunteers at the end of their day of service, holding a big "Thank You" from Lively Pointe.
Contech Engineered Solutions and Construction Products partnered with Keep Irving Beautiful for their days of community service on April 24 and 25. A total of 28 volunteers gave 141 hours of service in a two-day paint project at Lively Pointe Recreation Center. The multi-purpose room, dining area and game room now have a fresh coat of paint and look brighter and more inviting, thanks to these employee volunteers. Special thanks go to Christine Boltwood and Troy Crawford of the Parks and Recreation Department for helping KIB coordinate the project and to Thomas Gandy of ICTN for coverage of the event.
Contech, whose regional sales office is in Irving, gives its employees a day off each April in order to participate in a community service project in honor of Earth Day. This is the third consecutive year that the Irving office has partnered with KIB in this endeavor. Previous projects have included a cleanup at River Hills Park and painting the picket fence at the Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center. This year they were also joined by staff of their Arlington plant, and all wore specially-designed “Earth Month 2013” T-shirts. Cindy Booso, Customer Solutions Manager, has coordinated the teams each year.
“Irving has been so good to us,” said Jeff Collins, Contech Regional Sales Vice President. “It makes us feel great that we can give back to the community that has really made us successful.”
