The Mosaic team with their collection for the day at Trinity View Park

Keep Irving Beautiful partnered with Mosaic Sales Solutions, an Irving-based sales and marketing company, for a cleanup of Trinity View Park on September 19, 2013.  Thirty-nine employees gathered at the park on Thursday morning, and after receiving safety instructions, fanned out across the park to pick up litter.  Concentrating on the areas along the creeks that feed into the Elm Fork of the Trinity, they collected 1,440 pounds of trash and 560 pounds of recyclable materials.  In total, the group gave 137 hours of service.

Brian Kava, President of Mosaic Assisted Selling and Training U.S., spoke for the group by saying, “This was an amazing event, and a great opportunity for the Mosaic employees to come together as a team.  We not only worked together for the community and but also worked together as part of our culture of giving back and taking care of our environment.”

Mosaic employee volunteer Tony Lawrence added, “Mosaic has an internal desire to give back to the community where we live and work.  We chose to partner with KIB after team members saw an “All About Irving” article about a corporate day of service.  It’s great to see staff coming together with high spirits and hard-working attitudes to get involved in the community and keeping our natural areas litter-free.”

KIB worked with Mosaic’s Danielle Zuniga to coordinate the project.  After the cleanup, she commented on the event.  “Keep Irving Beautiful is a great organization to partner with,” she said.  “We all enjoyed the experience of getting outside and making a positive impact on the community where we all work.”

The partnership also included the City of Irving Parks Department, who reserved the location, and the Solid Waste Services, who provided a roll-off container and weighed the materials.

Keep Irving Beautiful is an award-winning, grassroots, non-profit leadership organization dedicated to educating community members about litter abatement, recycling and beautification in order to help preserve the health and promote the social and economic prosperity of our city.  For information on how you can become involved in volunteering with KIB, please go to www.keepirvingbeautiful.org, or call the KIB office at 972-721-2175.
