MOBILITY Credit Union celebrated 50 years of service with a ribbon cutting at their newly remodeled headquarters in Irving, TX. In attendance were the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the HEB Chamber of Commerce, staff, members the Credit Union Board of Directors, local vendors of the Credit Union and the first Credit Union employee, Judy Kelley.

The Credit Union started in 1965 in the lunchroom of the IBM facility located in Dallas at 2911 Cedar Springs. There were 14 employees who met and collectively deposited $150 to start IBM Southwest Employees Federal Credit Union to serve the financial needs of its employees.

Overtime more locations were added and additional products and services were introduced to meet to the financial needs of individuals in surrounding communities.

With the advances in technology, which redefined banking convenience, along with a growing mobile society, it was determined that a new name was needed to convey the capability to meet the dynamic changes occurring in the market place. In 2014, the Credit Union changed its name to MOBILITY Credit Union in an effort to depict the ability of members being able to conduct banking transactions from anywhere, anytime, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

For 50 years, MOBILITY Credit Union has strived to be the helpful place to bank.  And, that has been proven in terms of the many loyal members that still remain today. CEO, Mark O'Bryan, recognizes that the loyalty of the members is the reason for the Credit Union's success, "We wouldn't be where we are today without the loyalty of our members and the dedication of the staff and volunteers. I sincerely thank them for their support."

Today, MOBILITY Credit Union is growing with $174 million in assets and a membership of over 11,000. Here's to the next 50 years!
