The New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving presents “Freedom and Destiny” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 10 at the Irving Arts Center’s Carpenter Hall. The concert continues the orchestra’s 31st anniversary “Sundays at the Symphony” series for 2018-19 with works by five great composers. IISD students will play alongside NPOI members, and soloist Marshall Baldwin, a senior at MacArthur High School, will perform a violin concerto by J.S. Bach. Baldwin is the winner of NPOI’s annual youth concerto competition.

Dr. Sergio Espinosa, NPOI’s conductor and musical director, has chosen Beethoven’sEgmont overture, Lizst’s Les Preludes, Verdi’s overture to La forza del destino, Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien and Grieg’s Peer Gynt suite. Soloist Marshall Baldwin will play J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin in E Major with the orchestra.
