Scouts try their hand at radio communication.

The Irving Amateur Radio Club (IARC), along with members of the Dallas ARC, North East Tarrant County ARC, Euless ARC, UTD ARC and others participated in Jamboree on the Air at the National Scouting Museum in Irving, Texas, on Saturday, October 17th.

Participating scouts and scouters gained valuable exposure to the varied facets of amateur radio. Stations operated were HF voice, HF PSK, local VHF/UHF, and Echolink. Additionally there were satellite uplinks, demonstrations of Amateur Radio Wi-Fi Mesh networking, Morse Code, Fox Hunts, and solar telescopes. The IARC used their HF gear and antennas and Dallas ARC brought their mobile trailer for local VHF/UHF communications.
