Allan Conner

The Allan Conner Show will perform a one evening concert on Friday, November 17th at 7:30pm in the Carpenter Hall of the Irving Arts Center, 3333 North MacArthur in Irving.  Presented by the Entertainment Series of Irving, “retro never sounded so new” when this Vegas styled variety show features the voice of Allan Conner along with a band of seven musicians.   Allan takes his years of headlining shows from all over the U.S. as you travel a musical journey of the greatest songs from the 40’s, 50’s to the 70’s.  From Sinatra to Diamond and everything in between, the energy, showmanship and musical talent will make this show a night to remember.

Ricki Derek and His Big Band

Ricki Derek and his Big Band will take the center stage of the Irving Arts Center Carpenter Hall on Friday, October 20, at 7:30pm.  The first show of the 2017-2018 season for the Entertainment Series of Irving is bound to be a hit.  With sounds of ole Blue Eyes himself, Ricki Derek will quickly win the hearts of those in the audience with his crooner style performance and Frank Sinatra songs. Free Sundaes on Sunday

Join the Entertainment Series of Irving on Sunday, September  24, from 2pm-4pm in the lobby of the Texas Musicians Museum, 222 East Irving Blvd., for a free ice cream sundae and to get the “scoop” on the concert series fall lineup. Sean Mitchell

The Entertainment Series of Irving’s last concert for the season will be a matinee performance held Sunday, March 26, at 3:00pm in the Irving Arts Center Carpenter Hall, 3333 North MacArthur.  Sean Mitchell will be the featured performer.  Sean is an established singer/songwriter, as well as a music producer and arranger.  Having an established voice in contemporary Christian, Adult Pop and Country music genres, he will perform his “Big City Music Revue” which includes some of the greatest hits from the 50’s, 60’s and even the nostalgic 70’s.  He will blend “old school rock and roll’, top 40 classics, the soul and sounds of Motown, as well as a bit of country from time to time.

Kubecca Kuba and Rebecca
Rebecca Lowe and Kuba Kawnik will take center stage as Kubecca on Saturday, February 4, at 7:30pm in the Carpenter Hall of the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur.  Presented by the Entertainment Series of Irving, these two world-class musicians, acclaimed Broadway musical vocalist and a spectacular Vibraphone virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist, are in Irving for one performance only on Feb. 4.
 
Kuba Kawnik, originally from Poland, began his musical career at the age of four.  Although he is best known for his performance on the Vibraphone, he has also mastered some unusual and difficult instruments, including the Theremin – a rare and complex contemporary invention accessible to but a very few virtuosos worldwide.  Rebecca Lowe is best known for her roles in the musicals Evita and Jekyll & Hyde.  Booked right out of college, and as the youngest actress to perform the role of Eva Peron in Evita, she received standing ovations and critical acclaim throughout North America and Europe.  Experience these exceptionally gifted artists and enjoy an exciting show, brimming with breathtaking virtuosity and pure fun!  Check out this brief video of Kubecca    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9HSp9tblOg

Kraig Parker’s award winning tribute to Elvis Presley, “The King Lives,” is a world class show that has astonished audiences for nearly 20 year.  It will be presented by the Entertainment Series of Irving on Saturday, January 7, at 7:30pm in the Irving Arts Center Carpenter Hall, 3333 North MacArthur, Irving.  Parker will perform with his very own 10-piece group, the Royal Tribute Band.   He is personally managed and will be introduced by Charles Stone, Elvis Presley’s former tour producer from 1970-1977.

 

Parker’s powerful voice, electric moves and tasteful charisma will leave you ‘all shook up’ and screaming for more!  This electrifying entertainer has performed from Vegas to London and is not to be missed.  Critics have claimed “this is as close as it gets!” about his performance.

 

The ESI Board has guaranteed fun from the moment you step into the Arts Center.  There will be a Parade of Fashions from the 50’s.  Concert goers are encouraged to come dressed in the Elvis era with poodle skirts, side burns, Fonzi jackets, Elvis glasses, etc.  All participants will be entered into a drawing for prizes.  An exhibit of Elvis memorabilia will be displayed.  Some Elvis items will be for sale.

Terry Barber

 

Entertainment Series of Irving is proud to wind up their 60th anniversary season with a performance by Terry Barber.  Barber is a rare countertenor with an extraordinarily broad vocal range and natural fluency in many musical styles.  He has worked with many of the music industry’s songwriters, composers and producers and has appeared on albums with award winning musicians as Chaka Khan, Madonna, and Cyndi Lauper.

A former member of the Grammy-winning ensemble group Chanticleer, Barber has performed on many of the world’s most prestigious stages, including New York City’s Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall and :London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. 

Whether performing classical or popular favorites, he “breathes new life into everything he sings” and presents what has been called “performances of great vitality and verve.”
