Position Status: Full-time, Exempt
Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director
Prerequisites: • High School Diploma
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in supervising volunteers
• Two (2) Years experience and intermediate proficiency in office environment
Job Objective: • Recruit, screen, train and assign volunteers for all agency programs
• Provide administrative support for development activities.
Prime Functions:
• Maintain current list of all volunteers, track volunteer hours and complete reports as required
• Maintain and update list of volunteer opportunities; solidify relationships with volunteer centers, colleges and other external organizations as a source of volunteers and interns.
• Plan and coordinate training sessions for volunteers and conduct periodic volunteer educational meetings. Hold new volunteer orientation.
• Develop and maintain volunteer training manual, volunteer packet materials and other materials as required
• Coordinate and schedule staff and volunteers to assure adequate exhibit personnel at fairs, expos, speakers for civic organizations, churches, etc.
• Coordinate and schedule volunteers for special parties for shelter/transitional clients and children
• Coordinate volunteers for special events
• Publish monthly agency newsletter
• Hold monthly volunteer meetings
• Assist in supporting donor management system; add and update records.
• Assist in separating and preparing donations for pick/up and distribution to shelters, transitional and thrift stores
• Plans, organizes, coordinates, promotes, and facilitates special events including Employee Recognition program, fundraising events, public awareness, public relations and other events; schedules and maintains communications with speakers, vendors, participants; coordinates and monitors event timelines; assists in preparing a variety of publications, materials, and programs for the events; attends meetings and represents Brighter Tomorrows with service groups; coordinates participation in charitable contributions with regards to events; acts as prime source for promotion of activities and special events; initiates, coordinates and/or participates in all efforts to publicize promotion of Brighter Tomorrows, events, services and events.

Physical Requirements • Able to withstand prolonged sitting or standing
• Able to lift and carry 25 lbs for short distances
• The essential functions of this position require the daily use
of a computer and telephone in an office environment.
